Abstract: Calyconotiscus frontofasciatus gen. nov. sp.nov. (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae: Eunotinae) is described from Peninsular India and the new tribe Calyconoticini is erected for it. Reasons for its placement in the Eunotinae are discussed, as well as Eriaporini is included as a tribe of Eunotinae. A key to tribes of Eunotinae is provided. Calyconotiscus frontofasciatus was reared from Contarina sp. (Diptera :Cecidiomyiidae) induced galls on the leaves of Calycopteris floribunda Lam. collected from Kerala, India.
Abstract: A new species of Trigonoderus Westwood viz.T. keesi Narendran sp.nov. is described from Vietnam. A key to Oriental species is provided. A checklist for the world species of Trigonoderus is also given.
Abstract: A systematic survey was conducted to update the status of molluscs in Rushikulya estuary on the east coast of India. A total of 26 species were collected from 6 stations. Gastropoda included 17 species while bivalvia constituted 9 species. Ficus gracilis, Murex troschelli, Terebra commaculata and Saccostrea cucullata were recorded for the first time from this region. Umbonium vestiarium, Cerithidea cingulata and Telescopium telescopium were commonly found in the estuary. These molluscs form an important component in the food web and help in the secondary productivity of Rushikulya estuarine ecosystem.
Abstract: This study redescribes a rare species D. daruma Okada belonging to Polychaeta species group Sturtevant, of the subgenus Drosophila from Kalghatgi forest range (Western Ghats) Dharwad District, Karnataka, India. This species is for the first time redescribed from this part of the subcontinent. Their morphological characters, taxonomic status and relationships are discussed.
